The Mixed Linen of Star Wars

A blessed lesson from the Old Covenant!

The X Mass H8rs Blog

This is an old article but the lesson can apply to a Christian’s celebration of X Mass and Easter. It is not a small thing nor is it a matter of Christian liberty but, rather, a matter of obedience. Please take God seriously!

Back before I was saved, I decided I was going to read the Bible from start to finish. My husband at the time had a Bible, but he hadn’t read much of it. I picked it up one day and started at Genesis. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, half way through Numbers. I was done. I didn’t understand any of it and I thought it was a stupid book. There were things in Leviticus, in particular, that set me off. I didn’t know why they called it Leviticus, but I thought they should have named it Ridiculous. It all seemed downright silly to me. Why would God care if…

Quote of the day – Tertullian

John 4:23,24

23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Alexander Hislop, in his work, The Two Babylons, states,

“This tendency on the part of Christians to meet Paganism half-way was very early developed; and we find Tertullian, even in his day, about the year 230, bitterly lamenting the inconsistency of the disciples of Christ in this respect, and contrasting it with the strict fidelity of the Pagans to their own superstition.

‘By us,’ says he, ‘who are strangers to Sabbaths, and new moons, and festivals, once acceptable to God, the Saturnalia, the feasts of January, the Brumalia, and Matronalia, are now frequented; gifts are carried to and fro, new year’s day presents are made with din, and sports and banquets are celebrated with uproar; oh, how much more faithful are the heathen to their religion, who take special care to adopt no solemnity from the Christians.’

“Upright men strove to stem the tide, but in spite of all their efforts, the apostasy went on, till the Church, with the exception of a small remnant, was submerged under Pagan superstition. That Christmas was originally a Pagan festival is beyond all doubt. The time of the year, and the ceremonies with which it is still celebrated, prove its origin.” (pages 91-93)

A watchman urges us to speak in love

In closing I want to say that whatever your calling is in the Body of Christ I pray that you would take what is written in this tract to heart, and speak out at a time when it is not popular to do so. Those who have done so have reaped a harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God.

“I encourage you to do this especially if you are a pastor, evangelist, or in any position of leadership and have the God given opportunity to reach many. Speak not only to the Catholic people who are lost and need to hear the true gospel, but speak also on their behalf, speak for them who cannot speak for themselves. Tell your congregation that Roman Catholics need to be evangelized, and then teach your congregation how to evangelize the Roman Catholics.”

Proverbs 31:8,9

Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Ezekiel 3:17-18

Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Exposing the Common Errors in Biblical Interpretation

Critical Issues Commentary provides some of the clearest and most helpful teaching on how to interpret the Bible that I’ve seen. Thank you, Sherry, for bringing it to us!

An important teaching for every Christian:

Many teachers will twist scriptures because they use faulty interpretation methods. This is how many are fooled into believing they can celebrate X Mass and Easter, or that Christians can be homosexuals.
