Quote of the day – Jesus makes certain our victory over sin

Luke 22:31-34

31 ¶ And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired you, to winnow you as wheat.

32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: therefore when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

33 And he said unto him: Lord, I am ready to go with thee into prison, and to death.

34 But he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before thou hast thrice denied that thou knewest me.

“May your faith be buoyant in a sea of sin.”

 From a mighty fortress is our GOD

Did we in our own strength confide,
our striving would be losing,
were not the right Man on our side,
the Man of God’s own choosing.
You ask who that may be?
Christ Jesus, it is he;
Lord Sabaoth his name,
from age to age the same;
and he must win the battle.

  1. Hey! 😃 verse 31 I once had written on a piece of paper taped to my steering wheel! That’s a reality that Christians will sometimes endure. And I believe the more arrogant a Christian is, I believe the greater the likelihood of this happening.

    And ya like that song? “A mighty fortress is our God.”
    I like it too.
    In fact, I enjoy watching it as the opening theme song for “Davey and Goliath.”
