Proverbs 18

The words of a man’s mouth are as deep waters,
and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.

This article offers Christians an opportunity to understand what Roman Catholicism truly is and whether it can ever be reformed.

“Roman Catholics as individuals and groups may have different opinions about the Pope. After all, the Church of Rome is not a monolith, and even Popes polarize the assessments of the Catholic people. But what happens when negative voices become more frequent, more outspoken, more radical in their criticism, as seems to be the case in recent months? While public opinion is still heavily influenced by the overall positive image that Francis has, and continues to consider him as a kind of ‘hero’, within Catholic circles the ‘wait-and-see’ approach toward some awkward aspects of his teaching is coming to an end. Groups of intellectuals, priests, and even cardinals are voicing their growing embarrassment and are doing it publicly and with a severe tone. In raising their concerns, what they point to are not some peripheral elements but important matters of doctrine. The irony is that the one who is supposed to guard the Roman Catholic deposit of faith is charged with allegations of introducing confusion, if not heresy.”

What Happens If Catholics Think the Pope Is a Heretic?

    • Sherry, your remark isn’t bad. It’s more a statement of fact, sis!! About the article, Pastor De Chirico has the ability to lay things open to view in a careful way, leaving readers to draw further conclusions.

      Ephesians 5
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore He says:
      “Awake, you who sleep,
      Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”

      God bless you too! 💝

  1. FTA: “… It compromises their capacity for love, joy and peace”. Wow. To rely on popes and their say-so on RC doctrines for one’s love, joy, and peace…so sad. They need to look to the true Christ Jesus…
This Pope does seem like he is so focused on a one world religion that he is willing to take just about any belief and teaching and say its good as well as anyone being fit for communion. Confusion has to be the result from it. Sadly. with ecumenism, this leaven is going to spread into Christianity among the undiscerning liberal denominations.

    • Sherry, Francis is a one-world man, while maintaining the heresy of the mediation of the Church of Rome.

      Revelation 18
3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. 6 Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her. 7 In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’ 8 Therefore her plagues will come in one day—death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.

    • I agree with your assessment of the trajectory of this current Pope Sherry…I wonder how papists are going to take it when there’s division between the Pope and the more conservative leadership of Romanism

  2. Maria, this is an excellent summary of the current conflict within Catholicism between pragmatic Francis and the traditionalists. Some ecumenical “evangelicals” are attracted to Francis’ apparent emphasis of “charity” over doctrine, but he still proclaims Catholicism’s false gospel of sacramental grace and merit.
