“The Reformanda Initiative exists to identify, unite, equip, and resource evangelical leaders to understand Roman Catholic theology and practice, to educate the evangelical Church and to communicate the Gospel.”
Leonardo De Chirico is the Director of Reformanda Initiative and Pastor of Breccia di Roma Church.
Romans 12:1,2
nkjv
12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Thanks, Maria! I am so grateful for Pastor De Chirico and The Reformanda Initiative. What a witness in this era of compromise and ecumenism.

me too, Tom! And something I appreciate is his demeanor.
I want to look up his church address because it seems to be in the shadow of the Vatican! wow!

RE: And something I appreciate is his demeanor.
Yes, I noticed that also…very calm and controlled. Another word that came to mind is clinical.

Clinical? Can you explain, Tom?

Sorry if I caused confusion with that word. I meant it in a good way, “clinical” as being objective, without emotion. Just examining Catholicism and comparing it to Scripture. Sometimes, ex-Catholic Christians bring emotion into their examinations of Catholicism (I include myself) but De Chirico presents his material in a very objective manner.

Tom, that’s fine. You’re right, he is very objective as he examines issues. This is necessary because it is a huge battle and we all can take a lesson. Your family witnessing going well? I neglect opportunities with my own, waiting for the best moment. That can’t be right.

Thanks for asking, Maria! My wife and I get a word in about the Lord when we can, but we also don’t want to be off-putting. As the Lord leads, right? But my wife and I have a real burden for our two boys so we bring Him up with them quite a bit. Here’s a good story. Last weekend, our oldest son and his live-in girlfriend came over to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Someone brought up a couple we all know who are divorcing and the fact that they both have birthdays in September. Our son’s girlfriend, a Catholic, said, “Two Virgos shouldn’t get married. They should have known it wasn’t going to work out.” Our son looked at us and then turned to her and said, “That’s superstition. You can’t go by that.” The Lord’s working on Him.

Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock (THE MESSIAH) I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
The congregation with the foundation of the LORD GOD can in JESHUA, JESUS not be defeated. So HE gave us the Reformation to weaken the spirit of lawlessness and to spread the gospel over the world. Now the “ark” will be closed soon because time is finally fulfilling.
While we are now coming into new dark ages this guarantee of the CREATOR is still the same. So don´t be worried and trust in HIM!

Stephan, danke ! Your insights are interesting! You wrote, “So HE gave us the Reformation to weaken the spirit of lawlessness and to spread the gospel over the world.” Yes, He gave the Reformation and it has accomplished and is accomplishing this purpose of taking the Gospel to the ends of the world. The gates of hell have not and will not prevail against the Church – His unfailing promise will be kept!

This reflects what I have been thinking all along. After Hank Hannegraaff converted to Eastern Orthodoxy, I decided to dig into this subject because even though the East wasn’t part of the Reformation in the 16th century, and even though they don’t have a Pope, their post Edict of Milan Doctrines that mirror the Roman Catholic Church from about the 7th or 8th Century are very similar. There is a huge movement back to Rome and to the East. Dr. James White says they are attracted by the “smells and bells.” While I think he is on to something, what I think people in the Evangelical world are attracted to is the Traditions (smells and bells), and the structure. While the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches are ancient, they are not purely Ante-Nicene or Apostolic. That is why what this guy says in this video is so important. Thank you for sharing!

Phil, thank you for your thoughts on this! Yes, the attraction to structure is real and the attraction to mysticism is too. But the structure is unbiblical and mysticism is a horrible delusion.
