Have no fear when people call me the “Vicar of Christ,” when they say to me “Holy Father,” or “Your Holiness,” or use titles similar to these, which seem even inimical to the Gospel. Christ himself declared: “Call no one on earth your father; you have but one Father in heaven. Do not be called ‘Master’; you have but one master, the Messiah” (Mt 23:9-10). These expressions, nevertheless, have evolved out of a long tradition, becoming part of common usage. One must not be afraid of these words either.

“Call no man your father…”

Sorry but, yes, I truly am afraid to do this, as all Christians should be. We should be afraid to disobey the Lord. For in addition to not wanting to grieve Him, we know with certainty that we will stand before Him one day.
Hebrews 12:28-29
28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire.
Serving God acceptably means acknowledging only One Holy Father, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I’m very afraid of putting any human being in the place of my Heavenly Father.

Pam, yes, it’s a betrayal. Thank you for reading and commenting. It’s discouraging to read about this but we must be informed and pray.

Pastor Jim, yes, this is so clear. And yet people will defend this, and they have made him a saint. Blindness.

Thanks for emphasizing this, Maria. Yes, how can the “Vicar of Christ” countermand a command of Christ?

Tom, thank you for writing on this issue, which is a continual sin against the Lord! The Vicar of Christ can say this because he is the “vicar of Christ,” i.e., standing in the place of Christ. Sounds harsh but is the sad history.

The “tradition of The Mother-Church” is the religion of Nimrod´s Babel: Sun-Baal worship with mother Semiramis.

Stephan, danke, bruder! It is so good to have you comment.
When we see the photo in this post we know that something is very wrong. The Pope’s clothes seem to be those of a pagan priest, and they are because he keeps crucifying and offering his “victim” over and over again. All of this is clear and obvious except to those whose eyes have been blinded by the “god of this world.” Yes, Mother-Child worship occurs throughout pagan religions. This is a fact of history, the cult of Mother-Child with its continual cycle of death and rebirth reflected in the liturgical calendar. But Catholics who believe they are loving their Saviour and His Mother (and the Pope who seems to be their representative on earth) would run from such a notion. May their eyes be opened and may the Father transfer them from the dominion of darkness into the Kingdom of His Beloved Son! May they flee to the safety of Him Who “died once for all.”
“Come out of her, My people!” the Lord has commanded.

Kristi Ann, I agree with you! And I’m so grateful that the Lord called me out of Catholicism. This man called the pope is to be pitied.
