“Essence of lies, and quintessence of blasphemy, as the religion of Rome IS… it nevertheless fascinates a certain order of Protestants, of whom we fear it may be truly said that ‘they have received a strong delusion to believe a lie, that they may be damned.’ Seeing that it is so, it becomes all who would preserve their fellow-immortals from destruction to be plain and earnest in their warnings. Not in a party-spirit, but for truth’s sake, our Protestantism must protest perpetually.”

I’m putting this quote in the sidebar of my X Mass H8ers Blog. It IS the essence of it concerning the Protestants and Evangelicals adoption of those pagan/papist “holy” days!
BTW, I have recently found John Ploughman’s Talks and added them to the Spurgeon Library at He Hath Said. Here are the links to text: http://www.gospelweb.net/PloughmanTalks/plough1.htm
and to audio: http://www.sermonaudio.com/search.asp?seriesOnly=true&currSection=sermonstopic&sourceid=vayahiy&keyword=John+Ploughman%27s+Talk&keyworddesc=John+Ploughman%27s+Talk
In the audio, Jon Caldwell is the reader and it certainly was by God’s sovereign grace that he was able to because he had difficulty in speaking at times. I’ve lost contact with him but he had my prayers many times that God would heal him. Though I get more when I read, it has been a joy to listen to Mr. Caldwell once again.

That sounds good, Sherry, about its use in the sidebar. I will take these links to learn from John Ploughman. Have a blessed day!

Is Mr. Caldwell still on earth? (alive, somehow seemed wrong to say)

I’m not sure. I want to say that it was Rob Barkman who did a post on him asking for our prayers-back in 2012, I believe. I see his last sermon on SA was in that year and he has a medical collar on his neck.

Thank you for sharing this!!! It so our LORD in and with His infinite wisdom to convict us with His Holy Spriit! So, thankful for what He has shown me about this religion! That being said we are living in the days that even so called believers scoff at those that remind people not to go back in…this pope seems so “bright” so “white”. that pope always stands out around those that are always dressed in black around him. Have you noticed that. the devil is a deceiver OUR LORD IS TRUTH!

Elizabeth, yes, I’ve noticed his totally white clothes – from his first appearance on the balcony at St. Peter’s in Rome, it’s become his usual thing. Pius IX usually was phoytographed this way. It is an insult to the Lord, who alone is Holy, that the pope dresses as if he were the Lord, in white. It’s sad and wrong, and this should be obvious but people are deceived and deluded. God help them!
Hope you’re well, my sister. Lord bless you, and thank you for commenting!

Great quote by Spurgeon. So to the point. I like the sidebar idea. I will reblog. Thanks for posting Maria.

He was fighting the same war in his day as we are fighting in now, Cathy. He spoke so frankly which should be a lesson for us. He loved people but hated this institution.

As a former practicing catholic we receive a couple of their magazines. I like to keep them coming to see what they are “up to now”. As you may know this year has been declared the “Jubilee Year of Mercy” by their leader (not God’s Holy Spirit by-the-way) and their highness. In an article in their Columbia magazine (knights of Columbus) they have written an article titled “Divine Mercy Can Save The Worlld”. There is a portrait of “St.” Faustian with their new age Jesus (the one with the prism looking thing coming out of its chest/heart). In one paragraph they use this phrase (all in capital letters): “SUPERCHARGED” PRAYER AND GOOD WORKS. They are talking about and saying the Eucharist is “SUPERCHARGED” . Next paragraph starts off with this question: “So do you and your family want to help save the world and bring it back to God?” RECORD SCRATCH RIGHT HERE! Ummmm, didn’t God already send His Only Begotten Son to save the world? Did not Jesus already OVER COME THE WORLD SO THAT WE MIGHT HAVE PEACE? According to God’s written Word and according TO THE WORD-JESUS- Yes! He already did! At the end the last sentence says: “And as we put these works into practice while persevering in supercharged prayer, we not only reveal the true face of our Merciful Father to the world-we help him to save it.”
Wow! And wow! People falling in the ditch everywhere listening to this religious garbage! They get their ears tickled! Sad.
God calls people out of “her” and many are continuing to come out. But much more choose to stay in, go back in, or leave the truth they had revealed to them. I think of the parable of the Sower a lot . Have a blessed day as you go forth girded with the “armor of THE ONE TRUE GOD”! We need it as even the elect can be fooled in letting their guard down!

Elizabeth, thank you for this! I’d forgotten that this is a jubilee year of mercy, that is, by the pope’s “fiat”. Now is the day of salvation, the Lord says. Today – there is no reference to any special year but the important present when we must hear and obey God Himself, because we do not know about tomorrow – we have today.
I think I know the image of “Jesus” you mentioned. These pictures add so much to confusion and truly, as a former Catholic like yourself, they have been a major stumblingblock to me. This is because when I think of the Lord and pray to Him these images come back to me and I am so weary of them. They’re sinful and destroy faith and introduce doubt because they’re lies.
To think of former Catholics returning to Mother Church is horrible, but you are right the parable of the Sower helps us to understand. Some of them may come out again – may the Lord draw them out!
Yes, the RCC is a blind guide guiding the blind and both will fall into the ditch. It is sad however each one is responsible to God and will answer to Him, but the false teachers bear a terrible responsibility and judgment.
Yes, you and I, and all our brothers and sisters in the Lord must put on the whole armor of God and stand. Thank you so much for commenting. It is so encouraging to have you here.
In Jesus’ love,
Maria

Exactly what you said, Marie, on that image!!! Another reason I dread having to go to any funerals and not being sure The Lord wants me there. I heard a preacher say yesterday “when in doubt in a situation don’t do it” . There are several “Jesus’s” in that religion. I often wonder how many have been convicted of their practice but will not come out. Some sit in that church being convicted and mistake that conviction for the devil trying to entice them out 😦 I am happy to have you ladies to converse with and the sharing of the truth that you do for the Love of our great God that wants all to know him but gets accused daily of being a fairy tale or a hater.
Thank you, Sister
OUR GOD IS A GOOD GOD-A JUST GOD-A LOVING GOD! HE CORRECTS US FOR OUR OWN GOOD! BLESSED TO A HEAVENLY FATHER !!!! ALL GLORY TO GOD!!!
P.S. That word “heiress” was suppose to say “highness” !

Elizabeth, when my husband I married, I moved pretty far away – 500 plus miles, so for me it has been easier for me not to participate in Catholic celebrations. I can stay away from weddings and funerals and christenings. It is hard to stand against this family pull and also to say why you can’t participate. We’ve had to do this with family members here, who have held celebrations at the Masonic temple. Those who invited us reacted strongly against us and others just couldn’t manage to see why we would hurt those who invited us. So I know by experience. The preacher is right – whatever is not of faith is sin. My prayer is that the Lord teaches you how to deal with this issue in a forthright and loving way.
So glad that Sherry and I can be here for you as your sister in the Lord!
Yes, our God is a good, just, loving God, and holy also, Who corrects us for our eternal good – our loving heavenly Father!
P.S. I changed the word in your former comment to highness. When I use my Kindle to reply to comments or emails it often inserts the word it wants to, unless I’m watching for this. It can endup pretty funny. :0)
Lord bless and keep you!
